The illustrious history of the waffles
Many people are eager to learn about the exciting history of the Cinnamon Waffles. No, we're not talking about the tasty snacks first concocted by the ancient Athenians millenia ago, but the awesome group of GCNers born between 1987 and 1991. People are often curious about how we came to use the name "Cinnamon Waffles" to describe ourselves.
In 2007, our newly formed age group was in need of a name. Our name would define us and say something about our generation. Some of the suggestions included the "Mighty Morphers", "We are the 90s", and "The ORIGINAL Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!!!"
A member by the name of Daniel suggested that we call ourselves "those crazy in your face kids who are too cool for school and all that and a bag of chips." The acronym "Ciyfk-Watc-Fsataaboc" was born, which was then shortened to CWF. Crystal, another member, expanded this acronym slightly to something more pronounceable: CiWaFs. Our friend Daniel then expanded the acronym again to "Cinnamon Waffles." The name has stuck, and we are very proud of it.
